It all started with a sense of frustration and a search for meaning, purpose and happiness....
During a career in management consultancy, I became increasingly restless with the constrained ways of thinking and doing. Parallel to this I explored pottery, crafting and painting which spoke to me of infinite possibilities - a stark contrast to my experience at work.
As I grew confident in my own artistic creativity, I saw how the principles of creativity in art could be of great benefit to organisations as well as individuals. I also understood that it is only when we are creatively engaged in the world, can we find meaning and purpose.
It is my passion to follow my own creative impulses as well as to support individuals and organisations to reach their full creative potential.
Over the past 20 years I have explored many different spiritual traditions, practices and teachings. From Daoism to Buddhism, Shamanism to Yoga, Byron Katie to Eckart Tolle. A common teaching that has had the simplest and most profound effect is that of practising being fully present with, and accepting of, all that is in the present moment.
By becoming present, allowing stillness, letting go of the need to know and opening up to curiosity, our creativity flows.
Taking a very practical and experiential approach, I have designed techniques and activities that enable clients to get out of their heads, let go of old ways of being, and re-discover their innate creative impulses.
In this safe space, clients can face their fears and push through their comfort zones to follow what they may have been yearning to do for a very long time.
In 2017, I was privileged to be asked to write a book about crafting, creativity and mindfulness, entitled "Mindful Crafting: The Maker's Creative Journey"
